Curriculum Renewal
Earlier in 2023, an audit of compliance against the CDA policy was conducted for all programs offered by the university.
The requirement is that all programs are already compliant with CDA or become compliant within the next five years. That includes flexible structures, mapping to the new Graduate Attributes and demonstrating industry engagement (e.g. Partnership Pedagogy table).
In setting up the dates in the tables below, I looked at every program in the School and identified when was the last time it had a proper renewal of its curriculum.
The priority is that programs which had not undergone curriculum renewal for a few years would be top of the list. Similarly, programs that were recently updated will not undergo another change until the next accreditation round or within five years whatever comes first. Five years is the normal program renewal cycle.
The Next Curriculum Renewal Date is when the program will start its renewal process.
The Compliance Date is the year the program will become compliant to CDA. Some programs are already fully compliant, hence the 2023 date in that column.
Implementing a planned approach to curriculum renewal helps moving away from continuously changing programs and minimising the disruption to students. Going forward, program changes will not be permitted outside the renewal cycle unless compelling circumstances (e.g. changes to accreditation requirements).
