Computing Servers
There are numerous Unix type servers that can be accessed within the Western Sydney computer network. To access these servers when outside of the network, VPN access is required.
Contents
File Server
A general purpose server (not intended for intense computing) is provided for storing files, storing git repositories and running cron jobs.
- staff.scem.westernsydney.edu.au
Mail Server
The mail server mail.cdms.westernsydney.edu.au can be accessed using IMAPS. Mail can be sent using the SMTP server smtp.cdms.westernsydney.edu.au; mail sent to this server is not authenticated and so VPN access to the WSU network is required.
GPU Servers
- bd-client-01.scem.westernsydney.edu.au
- bd-client-02.scem.westernsydney.edu.au
- bd-client-03.scem.westernsydney.edu.au
- bd-client-04.scem.westernsydney.edu.au
HPC Cluster
Access to the High Performance Computing (HPC) cluster is granted through any of
- cody.scem.westernsydney.edu.au
- wolfe.scem.westernsydney.edu.au
Jobs are submitted on the server using SLURM. For details on how to use the HPC see the HPC_documentation.
Remote Access using the CDMS VPN
The CDMS research computer servers are only accessible within the WSU computer network. If working remotely (e.g. at home), a VPN connection is required to access the research servers. Detailed information on using the VPN are at https://www.cdms.westernsydney.edu.au/home/support/secureshell/
Microsoft Remote Desktop
- remote-hv8.cdms.westernsydney.edu.au
To connect to the remote Windows machine, run VMWare horizon client using your CDMS credentials.
